The foundation stone of the Ripon Hospital was set by Viceroy of India, the Marquis of Ripon in 1882. Hospital was opened for patients-both European and Indians –on 14 May 1885 by Lord Dufferin. The funds of this institution were almost wholly collected through donations.
The new Deen Dayal Hospital Building got completed on 26 April 2017. It was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Sh. Virbhadra Singh. The new complex is constructed with an outlay of 35 Crores and can accommodate 135 beds. The new seven storied building has central heating and offer all amenities including chemist shop, parking, blood banks besides , CT Scan facilities etc.
